Under Armour Spotlight | Stealth and attention seeking
We've barely had time to catch our breath following the launch bonanza that was January as we're underway again. Under Armour pitch in with two fresh colourways for the Spotlight boot.
Under Armour were laying low throughout January and kept their patience until February came around and started playing their hand. Now, we introduce the Under Armour Spotlight in two new colourways and if I dare stay in the realm of card games, I'm tempted to say they look like a pair of aces. You have the Hi-Vis neon yellow colourway and the sleek, stealth looking, black colourway on the other and by those measures, UA are sure to please just about every football fan out there.
The Under Armour Spotlight is designed to take center stage, but you get much more than attention when you lace up these boots. They can easily be called one of the best developed boots on the market - and it had to be. The Spotlight is the heir to the UA speed throne that was previously occupied by the adorned Speedform collection, but we can assure you all straight away; it is the rightful heir to the throne. Winter is coming (or well, it sort of just ended) and so is the technical laydown of the boot.

To set the boot off right, Under Armour have fitted the Spotlight with an anatomical heel counter that provides you with great lockdown without compromising comfort. The lockdown effect ensures that no energy is wasted when you set off in a sprint, which may just be what you need to get the better of the defender. As for weight, the UA Spotlight weighs in at a mere 209 grams and you could therefore be tempted to think that it's a through and through speed demon, but the Americans haven't skimped on either comfort or touch on the ball.
The upper of the Spotlight is synthetic and comprised of two separate layers; each with a purpose of its own. The inner layer is somewhat the skeleton of the boot and ensures lockdown and stability on both sides of the foot, whereas the outer layer is more elastic and makes sure your feet can move freely - especially on the areas of the foot where you are most commonly in contact with the ball. As mentioned earlier, the Under Armour Spotlight is a really well-made and well-developed football boot and I am going to stick with that notion; it combines the best traits of speed, touch and comfort.
