Puma evoSPEED 1.2 Black/Florescent Yellow/Brilliant Blue Leather
Earlier today we had a look at the Puma EvoSPEED 1.2 microfibre, but just like the generations before it, this boot also lands, as a leather alternative. We now go a little closer to the super cool and ultra light leather cat, which with its just 192 grams can call itself one of the markets lightest leather boots.
Pumas very popular speed boot always lands in two versions: one with an upper made from microfibre and one with leather. We will now take a closer look at the last of the two, which has a few different features, than its synthetic namesake, but what that is, you will have to read to find out.
Puma's EvoSPEED-collection has three very essential focus areas, which their boots are built up around: Light, Flex & fit. The goal is to design a football boot, which weighs as little as possible, has great flexibility and all of this without compromising on Puma's high standards when it comes to comfort.
The sublime fit is down to Puma's excellent evoAptoLast, which is a newly developed last that gives a really good fit. On top of that Puma have also equipped it with a anatomically correct inlay sole. It follows the foots natural curvatures and at the same time is also very shock absorbing, when you then combine this with the previously mentioned Last you really get a Hand-in-glove feel.
The upper is what differs on this version of the Puma EvoSPEED 1.2, when compared to the one we looked at earlier today, as this one is made with an extremely soft and supple calves leather. It shapes itself quickly to your foot and you are therefore ensured a personal, comfortable fit and soft, natural touch on the ball.
The outsole is made from the material PEBAX, which can be worked and sanded very thin, which again means that it weighs very little. It is however still very durable and most importantly, very flexible. The boot is very flexible, which is only helped by the DuoFlex-zone underneath the frontfoot, which gives a springy and powerful kick-off. When all of this is paired with the new Speedtrack Spine, you get one of the best soleplates in the world.
The stud-configuration has gone away from the tear-shaped studs and has been replaced by the classic, conical studs. This gives a very stable platform for your foot and also a strong pitch grip. Because the studs are completely round, they also perform twists and turns much easier. As something completely new the EvoSPEED 1.2 Leather also comes with a SG soleplate, which is a hybrid of metal- and plastic studs, because this is the way many professional prefer it.
What do you say to the new Puma EvoSPEED 1.2 Leather Black/Florescent Yellow/Brilliant Blue? And would you pick this, or the microfibre alternative? Share your thoughts in the comment-section down below and join the discussion on Facebook and Twitter.
