During the development of the LunarTempo Nike drew inspiration from young runners across the world. Nike's designers met and ran with athletes, among these the Copenhagen based running crew NBRO and here Nike studied the used and worn out running shoes they had lying around at home. Nike's design team found out that the runners used shoes for their everyday runs, which were actually designed and intended for competitions. Nike therefore sat down to develop a shoe that had the weight of a competitive running shoe and the comfort from an everyday running shoe, which is exactly what they have created with their new LunarTempo. The shoes upper is built up around Nike's Flymesh material, which ensures maximal breathability and ultimate comfort. The Flymesh upper is also seamless, which reduces irritation during your run. In addition Nike have incorporated their Flywire cables in the upper, which is integrated around the laces. The Flywire technology wraps itself around the midfoot and foot arch, so you get a tighter and more adapted fit when you tighten the laces. Nike's Flymesh material means that there aren't required any stitches, when the upper switches between the single mesh layer and the more supportive double layer. The Flymesh on the Nike LunarTempo is furthermore designed to be more "open", where you naturally need breathability and "closed", in the areas where support and stability is required. LunarTempos sole is built up around Nike's well-known material, which is designed to give maximal shock-absorbency during your run. The Lunarlon foam is reconstructed, so the material is lighter and more responsive than before. You do however get the same durable and soft support, which you need when running longer distances. The outsoles greatest impact surfaces are furthermore made Nike's iconic waffle pattern, to give you the best grip on the surface, as well as increased durability. In addition there is a secondary bit of patterning, which has the same waffle design, which works together with the midsole. This patterning absorbs the shocks from the surface and makes the sole very responsive. The Nike LunarTempo is made with an 8mm heel-toe drop. weight: 172 grams.
