With Free TR 5 Flyknit Nike have really raised the bar, with a new and updated Flyknit upper. The shoe is made with an upper of Nike's revolutionising Flyknit material, which is even a single piece. This gives a unique sock-like fit and it almost feels like the shoe envelops your foot. The special breathable areas are woven into the upper and is an integrated part of the Flyknit upper. These areas help increase breathability, to give improved comfort during your training. The has Flywire cables in the front foot and sides, which allow the weight to be kept at a minimum, without compromising on stability and support. Furthermore there has been placed a formed piece of foam in the heel, which ensures your foot is always firmly placed in the shoe, to give a safe and locked in fit. Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit is made with an updated Free sole. The hexagon-shaped flex-grooves are carved into the outsole, so you get six flex-points. This allows your foot to move more freely than before. In addition the phylite midsole means you get increased shoc-absorbency, which in turn results in more comfort. Strategically placed rubber on the heel and toes gives better durability. Furthermore the rubber zones on the side of the means you get a better grip on the surface, as well as more stability when you train. The shoe is made with a 8mm heel-toe drop. The Nike Free Concept originates in Standford, where Nike looked into the training methods of the very successful athletes there and found out they trained barefoot. 3 of Nike's most esteemed and creative innovators went to work on this basis and in 2002 they began work on the first Nike Free by mapping the foots bio mechanics. 8 years later the first Nike Free went on sale and the result was a shoe that "understood" your feet, how they land, where the pressure is applied.
