Nike Free originates from Nike finding out that the athletes at Stanford had been training barefoot. In order to solve, and understand, this issue, three of Nike's most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless. Back in 2002 the project of mapping both men's and women's feet was initiated. 8 years later the Nike Free entered the market, and the result was a shoe that 'understood' your feet; how it lands, pressure points and where your toes are.
