Nike Air Max Axis is fitted with a visible Max Air unit in the heel, for optimum cushioning and protection. The upper is made from breathable mesh material with no stitches, for a clean modern look. Nike's revolutionary Air-Sole unit became a part of Nike footwear around the late 70's. In 1987 Nike Air Max with visible air in the heel had their debut.
