PUMA evoSPEED SL II Tricks The 23 of June 1998, at the World Cup in France, in the game between Chile and Cameroon, something happened which never has been seen in the world of football. A player chose to wear a pair of boots where the colours didnt match. One of the boots was yellow, while the other was red. A eye-catching decision, which did not go unnoticed. The player who made this bold decision was the defensive Cameroon player, Rigobert Song. The boots he played with is some of the most legendary boots seen on the football stage, it was the famous and everlasting PUMA King. The German brand, PUMA, made a bold decision and continued with the concept under the name Tricks. To secure the needed stability, PUMA has incorporated their laser cutted SPEEDFRAME construction. This works as a skeleton structure for the thin upper and gives stability and support, when accelerating in linear distances and when you have to make sharp and quick turns. An outsole that gives a explosive start The outsole on the PUMA evoSPEED SL II is made from a lightweight nylon material. Furthermore, PUMA has equipped the sole with their SPEEDTRACK torsion bars, which is known from PUMA’s sprint shoes. SPEEDTRACK technology gives the right balance between stability in the midfoot and flexibility in frontfoot. The right balance is also to be found in the stud system, where there are conical and mixed studs. The round studs makes you able to manoeuvre on the field’s smallest areas and the longer studs gives a more aggressive grip towards the field, so you quickly and effective can reach you maximum speed. Furthermore the boot is equipped with a minimalistic external heel cap which ensures an increased comfort and greater stability. Weight: 242 gram.
