With this limited edition boot, Nike pays tribute to Franceso Totti - the Gladiator or the King of Rome. He’s truly a living legend, that even at the age of 40 remains an active professional. Playing his heart out for A.S. Roma, in the top Italian league Serie A. He arrived at the club's youth academy back in 1989, making his debut in the 1992-93 season - on the 28th March 1993, aged only 16. With a loyalty beyond understanding, it is now 25 years since his debut, and he's clearly earned his right to wear shirt number 10 and the captain's armband. His importance for Roma is undeniable, he’s a true club legend and a lucky charm - he’s forever entered himself into A.S. Roma’s hall of legends. As most football boot connoisseurs have noticed, Totti has for a long time played in a modified version of the Tiempo Legend 6 - a truly unique and rare version. Not available for purchase, anywhere. This limited edition is an exact replica of Totti’s unique boot, fitted with the same classic fold over tongue. On the top you will see the “X”, the roman numeral 10 and on the inside is the latin word “aeterno” - that translates to eternal. The heel is printed with “Totti” and the insole is printed with “Totto X Roma”. To honor Totti, Nike has given this limited edition the colour Metallic Gold, and on the side, you see the unique number. These had previously been causing a bit of issues for the leather upper, as dirt and water could be absorbed, causing the leather to set hard. Therefore, Nike have developed an internal framework that allows the kangaroo leather to offer the same unique stability and lockdown effect as the offered by the previous generations, however now with all the advantages of a seamless upper. The new upper has naturally also been given the ACC treatment, similar to all the other Nike top boots, which ensures a dominating touch regardless of weather conditions. Fold over tongue for a cleaner strike Besides the Metallic Gold color, it is the fold over tongue that sets the edition apart from the regular Tiempo Legend. You rarely see this classic tongue nowadays, but it is a classy detail that serves a purpose. It allows for a cleaner strike and better hit, allowing you copy the elegance of Totti. Moulded heel and two-split construction Similar to the previous generation, the Tiempo Legend 6 also comes with the same two-split kangaroo leather construction and Nike's leather emulating Kanga Lite material. This delivers a more stable and protective heel, as well as better lockdown effect. The heel has also been given an update and is now molded in order to further increase comfort, as well as to provide better protection in this exposed area. The combination of the kangaroo leather on the forefoot and the Kanga Lite around the heel area results in good freedom of movement and stability in those areas where your foot needs it the most. Poron-sole delivers extraordinary shock absorption Nike have also developed a new insole that ensures excellent shock absorption due its unique Poron material. On the outside of the insole you will see little silicone dots that ensure to keep it in place, and keep your feet nicely locked in the boots . It's almost unbelievable what Nike have managed to do with this new Tiempo Legend 6. The predecessor was already one of the most comfortable football boots on the market, but through innovation and hard work Nike have managed to create an even more comfortable boot.
