The original Copa Mundial football boot was launched back in 1979, ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Spain in 1982. The name also originates from this, because of the fact that Copa Mundial in Spanish, means World Cup. Since then, the boot has only undergone very small changes and is still one of the most popular football boots ever. This can also be seen, when looking at the impressive list of great players which have worn the boot throughout time. This is a leather emulating material, that combines fit and the sensitive touch from the leather, and the light, durable and sleek abilities from the micro fiber. The HybridTouch is 40% lighter and four times more water repellent than traditional leather. The iconic white fold-over tongue is still to be found on the boot and this contributes with a cleaner and better strike to the ball. Sprintframe outsole with GROUND/CTRL 2.0 stud system The boot is equipped with adidas’ lightweight Sprintframe outsole and GROUND/CTRL 2.0 stud system, which secures you a perfect balance, grip and control. The Sprintframe outsole was also to be found on the popular adidas F50 boots, where they with their low profile hold your foot close to the ground for an optimal contact and grip. The things that makes the outsole so popular is the lightness and the support and stability abilities that the flexible material offers. This is very important during quick turns, switching direction or shift in tempo. The boot has 11 iconic studs, which gives you the ultimate movability and maneuverability, so you can turn around in a second and control the game. The stud system is a hybrid between FG and AG, so the boot can be used on normal grass pitches, as well as artificial.
